Thank you to all the people who have volunteered to help with the Saturday and Sunday festivities for our annual Octoberfest. We have over 100 volunteers that are helping to make this a successful event. It takes every one of them and more. A special thank you to Amy Supple and her committee for all their hard work getting this event organized.
Set up is at 9:00 a.m. both Saturday and Sunday and we appreciate any and all help.
We need each family to bring a cake or a pie Sunday for the Cake Walk and the Ice Cream and Cake. Please have them to the rectory by noon Sunday the 30th.
We were blessed with beautiful weather for our Octoberfest. This
year's two-day total income including the dinner and dance was $16,557 before expenses. Copies of the Raffle Winners list can be found in the back of church in the literature shelf.
Thank you to everyone that helped in any way with this year's
Octoberfest. Without the many, many dedicated parishioners, this event would not happen every year. Thanks for making it happen!
Columban Catholic Church Honors Deserving Parishoners with Awards
October 9, 2012 - In what has become a new tradition in recent years, several members of the St.
Columban Catholic Church parish family were honored for their dedication and service at the recent
Octoberfest. Deacon Lawrence Schneider and Deacon Jerry Davis were named as the Honorary Grand
Marshals for the celebration. Both deacons, now retired, served the St. Columban community faithfully for many years.
Delores Devaul received the Unsung Hero Award. Delores is a volunteer who plans and coordinates funeral dinners with the Altar Society.
Fr. Angelo Bartulica announced the honorees at the start of Octoberfest and expressed his appreciation and gratitude on behalf of the parish.
