Fr.
Tom's Tomes January 10, 2010
This week we welcome Fr. Michael back to St. Columban. Fr. Michael will be with us for some time as a parochial vicar. Fr. Michael will be available to help with the needs of the people of the parish. There will be a group of middle and senior high students going to the March for Life in Washington, D. C. I will be going this group of pilgrims leaving on Wednesday, January 20, 2010 and returning on Saturday, January 23. I invite the members of the parish to keep this group in your prayers. I will be leaving after Mass on Sunday, January 10, 2010 to finish up the closing Mass of an Engaged Encounter Weekend. Back in August when Bishop Finn called about Fr. Michael coming I did let the coordinators of the local Engaged Encounter Weekend know that I would be available to help out. This weekend they were without a priest to be available for them and so they contacted me. I agreed to assist them since I thought Fr. Michael would be here. I will be leaving to visit my mom this weekend. I have talked to
my sister and mom and they do have a few things for me to do when I go home to visit them. As many households have to do Providing Catholic Education has been a mission of the Catholic Church for centuries. Please look for more information in the coming bulletins for events during Catholic Schools Week. God bless you this week and be safe with the changes in weather. |
