Fr.
Tom's Tomes May 7, 2006
I want to again thank all those who took part in some way with the Bishop Hogan School Auction. It was a wonderful evening made possible through the effort of many people. I want to thank those who spear headed the project, those who help set up, run it and cleaned up, those who donated the items to be auctioned and those who purchased the items. It was a blessing from God so many people are so extremely generous to help with our school. Many community people do support our school and this is a great blessing from the community. Kim, our parish secretary will be taking next week off. Kim works hard for our parish and does many things to help make my job so much smoother. Next week therefore if you get the recording during the day it is because Kim will be out of the office and I may not be here when you call. If it is something Kim needs to take care of please wait until the following week to call. If it is an emergency leave a message and I will get back to you as soon as possible. Beginning May 17, 2006, I will be working on getting a Master of Elementary Administration Degree. This work will be through William Woods University who uses the local Technical School to hold classes. I will be attending class on Wednesday evening from 5:30 through 9:30 pm. The classes start May 17 and run through October, 2007. I know this will limit anything which I will be able to do on Wednesday evenings. It is important for me to pursue this degree so our school will continue to be accredited. I ask for the patience and cooperation of all parishioners during this time. Wednesday nights will be evenings which will be occupied so I will have to think about when our parish CCD program will take place. Our parish CCD program is going very well this year. We have a PreK CCD program and there are many children attending these sessions. It is a joy and wonder to watch parents bring their children for CCD. I want to thank all of the volunteer teachers of the CCD program. The last session for this year's program will be this coming Wednesday evening. I look forward to beginning the CCD program earlier this year. Your child will be brining home their religion book from class on Wednesday evening. Bishop Hogan 8th grade graduation is scheduled for Friday, May 12, 2006 at 7:00 pm I want to invite all parishioners to come and attend this graduation Mass. As parishioners contribute to the support of the parish you have taken part in the development of the students of Bishop Hogan school. I want to thank those who contribute to the support of the parish. You have supported the religious formation of the children of the parish. Last Fall I started something different and that is to purchase religion books which will be sent home at the end of the year with all of the students. These books are theirs to write in and use. Being a Catholic School and a CCD program this is the most important book of the entire year the children use. The books are gifts to the children from the parish. Due to Kim being gone this coming week I am going to postpone the distribution of the pledge cards to parishioners for a week. Please think about what you would like to do to contribute to the support of the parish. It is important we all do our share in financially supporting the parish and its ministries. Have a blessed week. |
