You are all invited to watch the steeple be raised and placed atop the St. Columban bell tower this Friday, June 12. A light lunch of hotdogs or some other kind of finger food will be served. The time table for the day will be as follows: Hausman Metal Works and Roofing will begin the transport from St. Joseph at 7:00 am. They plan to arrive in Chillicothe between 9:00 and 9:30 am. The cranes will be in place by 10:00 am. The steeple will be hoisted at 11:00 am and the cross atop the steeple should be in place by noon. Please pass the word. The weather should be near perfect for this historic event! As you may or may not know, the church was originally built with a steeple and the peaks on the bell tower. In the 1930's, the steeple was removed and the bell tower squared off. We are thankful to the generous donation that allowed us to bring the church building back to its original uplifting design. |
